SEGA released Yakuza 3 in Japan February 24th, 2009 around two years after Yakuza 2. The storyline continues where its predecessor left off. Initially the game took place in Kamiyacho in the Osaka area. In this new version it takes place in Kamiyacho, Okinawa.
