
Apple has revealed a new iPhone 3G phone at the WWDC by the name of “iPhone 3G S”. As explained by Apple the “S” stands for “Speed”, the new integrated process promises to deliver two times faster speed than the older versions, it also has less power consumption which reflects on battery life.
iPhone 3G S has the same design as the previous one 3G, with the same dimensions but the weight increased a bit. Data transfer will reach up to 7.2 Mbps HSDPA.
The camera quality has improved delivering 3 megapixels, along with auto white balance and autofocus, special macro is available now to give better quality pictures in low light environment. It also supports video recording up to 30 fps VGA with autofocus, in addition to new editing features.
The battery has improved allowing use of 5 hours of 3G talk time and 9 hours of Wi-Fi internet usage, and 12 hours of talk time on 2G. While it will holds to 300 hours on standby time.
Voice control can now be accessed through holding down the home button, the voice control allow users to do many voice controls tasks like accessing iTunes or even make calls.
iPhone 3GS has new special features, it has an integrated magnetometer allowing the device to work as a compass through application. It also has a support for Nike+ as a built in feature.
The phone will be released in North America on June 18th, and will be shipping to another 80 countries next August. The price for the 16GB version will be for $199, and $299 for the 32GB version.
For the AT&T customers who already have a valid contract, they can upgrade to the new iPhone 3GS for a two years commitment for an $18 monthly fee and price $399 for the 16GB version, and $499 for the 32GB version.
